Back from Nice

Wow! What a great holiday. We had a great time. It was warm and sunny (especially the first two days), and all the people we met were friendly and welcoming. It was a great getaway and we're looking forward to going back sometime.

We stayed at Hotel Splendid -- yes, I know, a "splendid" hotel in a "nice" city -- and I would highly recommend it. It was only a few blocks from the beach, with its own private access (if you go when swimming is an option), the rooms were luxuriously large: the bathroom alone seemed to stretch to the horizon. All of the people we met were quite friendly and helpful. It didn't have 'old world' charm, perhaps, but it more than made up for it in generous creature comforts, and we got a great rate through British Airways holidays.
