Fair warning

I have just started reading Lynne Truss' fine book, Eats, Shoots, and Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation, in part because two friends and colleagues, Bill Spaid and Liza Spangler, recommended it to me. It is simultaneously heartening (I'm not alone in being upset by shoddy English!), horrifying (do I really misuse apostrophes in plurals that often?), and flat-out hilarious. I am dangerously close to changing from a quaint (if mildly annoying) language purist to an insufferable pedant!
