I haven't had the...um...'pleasure'?...of watching the new Superman movie, but Gaunilo, via The Fire and the Rose, points out the silliness of recent comments that Superman is 'anti-American'.
Books and Culture has an article with summary of some of the silliness, and some decent counter-points.
I'm glad we have nothing more important over which to spill ink and bandwidth.
But is this, for some conservatives, the equivalent to, for some Christians, the DaVinci Code?

I hated Superman Returns. No plot. No drama. No point.
None of the actors wanted to be there.
